The Salinas Valley Samba players and staff are excited to begin our fifth season as a member of the National Premier Soccer League. Long gone is the notion that this game is some kind of “foreign sport” as the United States now hosts more than 24,000,000 active league players and 9100 soccer clubs across the country. This makes soccer, by far, the #1 participant sport in the United States. As a result, the NPSL, with strong and focused leadership, is growing rapidly across the nation. We now have divisions in the Northwest, Southwest, Midwest, Northeast and Southeast. Here, in the Northwest, the Santa Cruz Breakers and Real San Jose joined us last year. Both have become solid additions to our league and strong rivals for the Samba. This year the San Francisco Glen, a club with a long and successful history, will be joining us on a provisional basis. Next year we will be adding a team from Stockton and one from the East Bay area. The future looks great for the NPSL and the beautiful game. The
Samba are committed to playing the game the way it is meant to be
played: high-flying attacking soccer all the time. Come see us play! |
