Monterey Herald Staff,
Nick Lackey and Adam Smarte each scored goals as the Samba moved
within one point of the first-place Sol.

who headed the ball to Lackey in the 40th minute.
The insurance goal came after Aaron Biddle dribbled around a
couple of defenders before sending a through ball to Smarte, who
chipped the ball over the goalie's head in the 61st minute.
